Type 1 Diabetes Awareness Wreath - Highs & Lows by The Artful Wreath

November is Type 1 Diabetes Awareness Month. This one is very near and dear to my heart and soul, because my son was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of seven. Life changing for sure! Type 1 (T1D) is an Autoimmune Disease with no known cause or cure. A person with T1D requires insulin to cover every carb consumed, in order to survive. There are tools to manage your blood sugars, such as a continuous glucose monitor (he has a Dexcom) and insulin pumps which help to keep your blood sugars in range. Type 1 requires daily insulin because the pancreas no longer produces insulin.

This wreath collection is to support the Diabetic Community to help raise awareness; a conversation piece to open up talks about this illness that requires 24/7 monitoring.
